Lowry suffered a knee injury in early August of 2025, rendering him unable to play for the entire season. The defensive end last played for the Steelers in 2024, producing five tackles, including 1.0 sacks, over a 12-game span. The 31-year-old should provide cheap and experienced depth to the Steelers' defensive line as they head into the 2026 season.

Pauling ended his final college season at Notre Dame, starting six games at wide receiver for the Fighting Irish. The 23-year-old accumulated 26 receptions for 381 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns over 12 contests as a fifth-year senior. Pauling's speed and quickness provide upside as a special teams producer that can also develop offensive value. If he wants to survive the 49ers' cut-down day, he will have to make his versatile potential clear in training camp.

Taylor's 222 carries with Virginia in 2025 give him extensive experience to bring to the Jaguars' camp. The durable dual-threat running back may be undersized, but he holds onto the ball and plays with great physicality. Now officially a Jaguar, Taylor will compete with the rest of the running back room for potential meaningful snaps in 2026.

Pena, a sixth-year senior, played his first five college seasons with Syracuse before ending his college journey at Penn State. The wide receiver started eight games in 2025 and participated in 13, totalling 49 receptions for 552 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Pena's average size and speed will do him no favors at the NFL level, but his toughness and intuitive feel for space may sneak him onto an NFL roster as a punt return option.

Wortham had a career year during his lone season at Montana in 2025, catching 85 passes for 1,224 yards and 10 touchdowns. As Jacksonville's receiving room is already crowded, Wortham will likely face an uphill battle to make the team's final roster but could have a chance of making the practice squad.

14m agoYates (knee) has made three minor-league rehab outings since April 17, giving up a combined seven runs on seven hits while posting a 5:1 K:BB over three innings.
Yates' rehab appearances have been spread out, as he's had at least two days off between each outing. The veteran reliever has given up at least one run in each of his one-inning appearances and has served up two homers across his three frames. It's not clear how long the Angels plan to keep Yates on his rehab assignment, and his struggles may not be helping his cause for rejoining the big-league roster in short order. After Jordan Romano was designated for assignment Sunday, the Angels' closer situation is extremely murky, and Yates is a clear candidate to take on the role given his 98 career regular-season saves. However, the club may want to see Yates put together some better outings before feeling comfortable handing him the ball in the ninth inning of close contests.

22m agoRodriguez (shoulder) threw to live hitters in Arizona on Friday, and the Angels are evaluating how he came out of that session before determining the next step in his throwing program, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
Rodriguez reportedly threw the equivalent of three innings in the live session Friday. The right-handed hurler felt "good" while throwing, according to manager Kurt Suzuki, but the team still wants to see how he recovers before determining his next step. Rodriguez could be headed for a minor-league rehab stint soon, and there's a chance he'll be able to join the Angels sometime in May.

Betts has been sidelined since early April due to a right oblique strain. The star shortstop resumed swinging a bat about two weeks later and has continued to take batting practice in the cage. Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Betts is in line to start a rehab stint either during the coming weekend or the following week, so a return to the big-league roster during the first half of May appears to be feasible.

Edman continues to rehab from the right ankle surgery he underwent last November. The utility man began taking live at-bats in mid-April and has continued to do so, but the organization is having him build up his running progression slowly. Edman isn't likely to be activated from the injured list until at least late May.

1h agoManager Aaron Boone said Sunday that the Yankees will make a decision on Stanton, who is nursing right calf soreness, before Monday's game versus the Rangers, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Stanton made an early exit from Friday's game against Houston and hasn't played since. While the team hasn't yet announced whether the veteran slugger will need an IL stint, a clue may have been dropped with the news that outfielder Jasson Dominguez is set to be called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Fantasy managers who roster Stanton should get a definitive answer on whether he'll be placed on the IL ahead of Monday's 6:05 PM ET contest in Texas.

Wagner suffered a strained right oblique in early March after appearing in just five Cactus League contests. He seems to be showing improvement but hasn't yet set out on a rehab assignment. It's unclear if there will be room for Wagner on the big-league roster when he's back to full health.

Durant has missed the last two games due to a left ankle sprain and bone bruise, but there is a chance he returns in the first round, according to Udoka. His next opportunity to suit up comes in Game 5 on Wednesday. This is a positive development as the Rockets look to continue their comeback from what was an 0-3 series deficit before Sunday's win.

4h agoClingan chipped in five points (2-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt), six rebounds and one block over 14 minutes during Sunday's 114-93 loss to the Spurs in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Clingan continues to provide modest production, seemingly no match for the newly crowned Defensive Player of the Year, Victor Wembanyama. Through four games, Clingan has averaged just 6.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks. If Portland is to force the series to a sixth game, Clingan is going to have to come up with some out-of-the-box solutions.

4h agoAvdija logged 26 points (8-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal over 37 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 114-93 loss to the Spurs in Game 4 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Avdija continues to do everything he can for the Trail Blazers, although, once again, they fell short of victory. He has clearly been Portland's most consistent player, getting it done on both ends of the floor on a nightly basis. If the team has hopes of extending the series to a sixth game, Avdija is going to have to deliver another masterclass, this time on the road in San Antonio.

Dickinson's clearly not 100 percent, as he's missed five of the last seven games due to a suspected lower-body injury. The 30-year-old has picked up three points, four shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over his two playoff appearances, but his absence has diminished the Oilers' center depth. They're facing elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday, so Dickinson may need to play through the issue some more to keep the season going.

McDavid picked up four points over two games in Anaheim, but the Oilers lost both of those contests and are down 3-1 in the series. The superstar center has earned 13 shots on net, five hits and a minus-6 rating over four playoff outings this year. McDavid will likely need to put the team on his back at home in Game 5 to keep the season alive.

Kapanen has done his part this series with four goals and one assist over four contests after picking up just two points over his last 15 regular-season games. The 29-year-old winger's performance hasn't been copied by many of his teammates, which is why the Oilers are staring down elimination. Kapanen should continue to be effective on offense and with physicality in a middle-six role at even strength.

Nugent-Hopkins has gotten on the scoresheet in the last three games, earning two goals and an assist. That's all of his offense this postseason, and he's added four shots on net, four blocked shots, three hits and a minus-1 rating over four contests in this first-round series. The Oilers have tried a few different line combinations -- Nugent-Hopkins started this game on the third line after previously playing on the top line -- but they haven't been able to keep pace with the Ducks most of the time.

With four points over the two road games in this series, Bouchard's offense has returned after he was held off the scoresheet in the first two contests. He's added seven shots on net, four blocked shots and a minus-6 rating while seeing his usual top-pairing minutes.

1h agoJarry stopped 34 of 38 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks in Game 4.
Jarry had an acceptable performance by the numbers, but he let leads of 2-0 and 3-2 slip away in regulation. In overtime, he was able to slow down a Ryan Poehling shot, but it squeaked across the goal line at 2:29 of the extra session, sending the Oilers to a third straight loss and the brink of elimination. At this point, it's unclear who between Jarry and Connor Ingram will get the nod in a must-win Game 5 on Tuesday in Edmonton, but the Oilers will need whoever starts to be at their best to slow down the Ducks' high-flying offense.
